In addition to serving 18 years as a mental health provider, I have a 12-year history as an EMS provider and have worked with individual first responders who have been adversely affected by their experiences in the field. Rescue work is special and unique in that you form a unique family at your home base. I understand that and can work with the unit or individuals as needed from the perspective of not only a trauma specialist, but also a former first responder.
